individual therapy for adults
Who we are is developed early on by being in relationship with another. The way to heal is also through being in relationship.
Maybe you are looking for relief from feeling anxious, sleepless, stuck or depressed. Perhaps you question yourself, your confidence, or you are experiencing unsatisfying relationships. Or, maybe you are unsure of what is meaningful to you and don’t know where to turn to pursue a career. The psychotherapeutic relationship offers a stable and grounded space for digesting life’s challenges, as well as discovering the deepest roots of one’s pain and suffering. By making contact with these roots, not only do people experience relief, they also develop a strong foundation to build a life going forward that is satisfying and meaningful.
I work with many adults of varying backgrounds with focus in the following areas:
Relationship struggles (romantic, professional, friendships, family members)
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma
Identity
Stuck creatively or professionally
Grief and loss
pregnancy and postpartum
I am also certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and work with individuals who are in transition to becoming new parents. During the pregnancy period and postpartum, there is a lot to sort through practically, logistically as well as emotionally. It is such a vulnerable and tender time for either parent, and so much newness to contend with: biological changes and discomforts, uncertainty, high demands, constant changes with your baby, new relationship stressors. It can be hard to find your footing as a new parent. I help individuals create an ongoing space for themselves to pause, reconnect with themselves and their needs as they change and shift over this turbulent period.
